Palette Security Overview
Palette Security controls user access for performing configuration activities within the Oracle Insurance Rules Workbench application.
The Palette Security framework consists of the following core areas:
-
User Security
-
Displays all users who have been granted configuration access to Oracle Insurance Rules Workbench.
-
Each user is assigned one Palette Security role, which determines the configuration actions that can be performed.
-
Assignment of multiple roles to a single user within this section is not permitted.
-
-
Security Roles
-
Roles specify the set of configuration tasks and privileges available to the assigned users.
-
Each role is comprised of a predefined set of privileges that govern access and permissible actions.
-
Refer to the Rules Palette Security section for details on Release Management Security Roles.
-
Security administrators are responsible for creating roles and assigning access based on job responsibilities. Roles and associated privileges can be updated at any time within the User Security or Security Roles sections. All modifications are saved directly to the database.
Transaction and Company Security
After a new transaction or company is created, it must be added to a security group by a security manager. If the entity is not assigned to a security group, it will not be accessible within Oracle Insurance Policy Administration.
Release Management Security
Assignment of specific roles is required to perform release management activities. Only users with appropriate permissions specified by their assigned roles can access release management functionality, including management of configuration packages, migration sets, and release packages.
